Kings Canyon National Park: a photographic trip guide

We took the CA 99 and then CA 180 from San Francisco via Fresno to Kings Canyon National Park.

On our first night we stayed at the Grant Grove cabins and headed out to Cedar Grove early the next morning. After setting up camp in Sheep’s Creek campground we went to Roaring River trailhead and hiked down the River trail to take in the Zumwelt Meadow Loop. On the way back we crossed the road and returned on a different, much drier and hotter, trail.

In evening we enjoyed a local beer and the obligatory s’mores.

The following day we hiked to Mist Falls and then to Paradise Valley. Enjoying more beer in the evening as a reward.

On our final morning we rose early (for us) and headed to Sequoia to enjoy Crystal Cave and General Sherman before an early dinner in Fresno on the way back to San Francisco.
