Xi’an weekend and we got to see the Warriors. Pretty nice and much better than in the British Museum. I like the smell off them and the scale. I’ll be planning something similar for when I go.

In the evening we ate the famous Muslim mutton soup and spent well over 30 mins crumbling our bread for the soup. I think it was worth it for the taste though.

Sunday…

Our well positioned hotel was next to the Big Goose Pagoda and so we took a morning walk in the gardens and temples there. It was very peaceful despite the tourists and with the warm sun a very pleasant experience. Very pleasant indeed.

Then we had the ubiquitous Sunday lunch dim sum with tripe, chicken wing tips and pork knuckles. Yum. After that we spent a while looking for a way up the city walls and when we eventually made it up we cycled all 9 miles around. Ian and I had a tandem and even though I really didn’t think I’d like it it was quite enjoyable. Maybe we will do that again some time?
